What did you learn about "lifelong wellness" from taking this activity class?

I learned that in a cardio workout you need to breath. You only get your heart rate to a certain point and keep it there for the remainder of your workout. It is really easy to overdue it or underdue it. The very first day of class I was sprinting the majority of my workout, the scary part about it was that I was out of shape from high school, and I had no idea that you could get your heart rate too high. I realized that I could have killed myself that day, so i really took the advice from my instructor very seriously from then on. My workouts were much more effective after that.

How would you apply this information to your life?

I will be using this information for the rest of my life in the majority of my workouts. Cardio is very effective training that can burn body fat, make you sweat, and is really easy to work with. I want to keep a healthy heart; not only will it help prevent big diseases like cancer or diabetes, but it will help me live a long and healthy life. and being in good shape will help you make better decisions, especially when it comes to what you should eat. You will be drawn to healthier food if you are living a lifestyle with cardio.

What is your intention to continue to exercise in your life and why?

I have been and athlete for as long as I can remember. I feel sickly and tired if I do not workout everyday. I have made it  part of my daily routine to get a workout in; from ten mins of stairs, lunges, or squats up to one to two hours in the gym or running outside. I enjoy this thin, healthy body that I have now and I intend to keep it for a very long time. I will even workout when I am pregnant. Not even pregnancy will get me down.

General ideas for improving this course?

I personally feel intimidated to pick up any weights or use most of the weighted machines when their are a lot of people. I think if it were required to use all of the machines each class time, and that the other women had to use the equipment, I would feel more comfortable using the machines. More lecture time would not be a bad thing in my opinion. Other than that, I really enjoyed this class.
